World Champs! Kenya crushes Egypt to secure back to back roll ball title

The women's side beat Poland 2-1 in the semifinals
Kenya national women’s roll ball team are back to back world champions after bulldozing their way past Egypt in the 6th Roll Ball World Cup finals staged at the Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Balewadi in Pune, India on Tuesday afternoon.
The Kenyan side - having recorded all wins in the competition that began last week - whitewashed Egypt 5-0 on their way to defending the World Cup title they last won in 2019 in Chennai India.

They got into a roll early on and scored within the first minutes of the game with Maria in goal producing big stops to secure a remarkable victory for the side that was in the first place unsure whether they would make the tournament.
Prior to their trip for the World Cup games that kicked off on Friday 21 April, men’s team captain Joseph Aluhala had admitted the team having to deal with visa issues but after a slight delay, made the opening day of the games, with the women's side in this case showing brilliant performances in all their group stage matches.
Kenya, pooled in Pool A alongside France, Ivory Coast, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Egypt went ahead to record first wins against Nepal and France - winning 8-1 and 10-0 respectively.
Kenya then obliterated Sri Lanka 6-2 and Egypt before booking a place in the semifinals against Poland on Tuesday.

A comeback win was the result for the Kenyan side - writing off a one goal deficit to win 2-1- booking a place against Egypt in the finals.
The runners-up Egypt had secured a trip in the finals after beating India - who were crowned the World Cup bronze medalists after beating Poland in the 3rd place playoffs.
The medal ceremony was conducted by Mr. Chandrakant Dada Patil - India's Minister of Technology and Higher Education, alongside other State Department officials.
The Kenyan men's team on the other side remain active in the competition after making it to the quarter finals with a comprehensive win over Iran in their fourth game.
